Two Paper Divas Design Team Jar full of Cherries

This is a Cherry Day....I had to make another card with Cherries while I was at it.  Since I received the JAR and LID clear stamps from Melissa Rodgers, co-owner of TWO PAPER DIVAS.com, I have been anxiously waiting a moment to create with it.  Working on the other card today with the Cherries in the bowl, it just seemed like the time to carry on.   The Cherries in the Jar are also from a grouping of Two Paper Divas clear stamps. The single Cherry is from the Peel-Off Stickers set from Elizabeth Craft Designs and once again I did the Burnished Velvet Technique but this time on an "Inchie".  It gave the card some texture.

I started with a 5 x 5 base card of red from Stampin'Up.  The next layer and the additional red accent is from the Dots & Stripes 6 x 6 Paper Pad from Echo Park.  The black is also a Stampin'Up product.  The white is from Gina K. Designs Pure Luxury 120 lb. weight card stock.  Once again, as before, I used this product so the Copic Markers would not bleed through being as this was the actual card. I attached the white card to the base with 1/4" Scor-Tape which would give the heavier weight card stock more stability.

Burnished Velvet Technique - Cherries

I just had to "play" with the Burnished Velvet Technique again using Copic Markers (R46, R43, B05, B93, YG03, YG17, YG67 and Blended w/ 0) and the Peel-Off Stickers from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This time I used the Cherries in a Bowl #2533 (Black Outline) which I purchased from Ellen Hutson.com.  See my previous posting on Glittered Copics for the information on how to accomplish this beautiful technique.  Happy Playing in the "Glitter Ritz" Micro Fine Glitter.  Love, Love, Love it!!  Thank you again to Julie Ebersole, a designer with Ellen Hutson.com, for doing a Video on how to do this delightful technique.

Two Paper Divas Design Team 2nd Card with Copper Cone Flowers

Today I did a quick one for my 2nd card for Two Paper Divas Design Team.  I love the cone flowers and wet embossed them with Copper embossing powder (using a Champagne VersaMark stamp pad).  The card is more striking in person with the copper shine.  It is obvious I enjoy this flower because it is in my fall silk bouquet I put out this time of the year.  Consequently, I decided to pop the card into the bouquet for the photograph.

I used two sets of clear stamps * from Two Paper Divas to accomplish this card.  The "Bee" and the "Just bee-cause" came from the same set and these sets are definitely two groups of stamps that everyone needs in their "GO TO" arsenal.   There are some wonderful stamps in each set.  Check out the sets at Two Paper Divas website or at Melissa Rodgers' store in Gardner, Kansas, "Remember This Remember That".  If you have found my website, TinyArtCreations.com or my Blog, Cardsbycarryn.blogspot.com, please skip over and enjoy the wonderful things which are being posted at the two other websites.  You might also want to follow the other Design Team members on Two Paper Divas.  There are some delightful creative gals involved with these two companies.

The label which I used is from a Cuttlebug group of labels (Die Cut).  I have a Big Shot and it works great with my machine.  The Mango Paper is a purchase of Memory Box from EllenHutson.com.  The white paper is from Stampin'Up.  Instead of using a "normal" ribbon,  I placed an unusual pearl and cord ribbon on this card.  I like this element of surprise juxtaposed on this card.  That is the Interior Designer in me still!!

P. S.  The pearl and cord ribbon was purchased at Walmart.  Never know where our embellishments will come from.  The Copper embossing powder is Zing Metallic by American Crafts and I purchased it at our closest store in Durango, CO. called the Scrapbook Nook.  It is a family business and run by a Mother and Daughter team.  Thanks Jerri for your help!  I also love the hardware stores....like Terry's ACE Hardware in Pagosa Springs, CO.!

White Pumpkin Delightful Card

My version of a card which Rene from the Two Paper Divas Design Team had created.  Love it Rene and so did my students.  Thank you for your original card and all of your creations.  I used the pumpkins from the stamp set from Two Paper Divas and the clear glitter pen on the pumpkins.  Unfortunately, I did not have any more of the adhesive backed burlap but I frayed the edges of a regular piece of burlap and sponged it with the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink from Ranger.

Colorado Aspens in the San Juan Mts.

We see this beautiful color from our Home but it was fun to drive up in them. Gotta Love Colorado!!  We have rusty reds in the scrub oak which gives a wonderful contrast.

Halloween BOO Class

A wonderful small group of my students hard at work building the BOO Banner in wooden blocks.  My dear friend, Melissa Rodgers - formerly of Pagosa Springs - very kindly agreed to prepare 10 packets to allow me to teach this adorable tabletop decoration many miles away from her.  Her staff at her great store, REMEMBER THIS REMEMBER THAT, in Gardner, Kansas helped her die cut some interesting pieces to make this special BOO for us.  Melissa had posted the BOO, which she had created for an event and also a class she has now taught in her store.  I saw this post on her website, www.RememberThisRememberThat.com and her other site on www.TwoPaperDivas.com. The next day I emailed her and told her that we needed to talk.  The rest is history as they say!!  Thank you again Melissa and please thank your gals who helped make this possible.                                                                                                                                          

That is me in the apron hoping that I do not get "glue" on me.  Sitting by my right arm is my 89 year old Mother, Margaret.  Love having your wit with us Mom.  We are always at a great age to do crafts!!  You do better than so many people at this age and I love the fact that you want to be here for class.  Even if you have to leave early to get your hair done.  We do have priorities and that is important!!

YES....we are in my garage because I wanted all of us to be able to spread out. Not a pretty backdrop for the pictures but functional. As the morning went on, we opened the garage door and it was a gorgeous Fall day.  How lucky we were to enjoy it all.

This is my special friend, Frances.  We should ALL have a "Frances" in our life.  Thank you dear friend for assisting in the crucial "embossing stage" of the BOO.  I think my mat got more embossing powder embedded in it than the BOO's did.  Not your doing my friend!!  The pieces which were embossed in black powder were done as die cuts not stamped first as the group was used to doing when embossing.  Nice to be able to show them a different process.  It took time but the end result was so worth the time spent.  We added the witch flying on her broom in one of the "O's"; the witch hat hanging on the fence; and the black cat on the fence.  Cute additions but not totally necessary to Melissa's original design.

Barb, in the pink, always finishes her cards or whatever we are doing FIRST!  Makes others nervous!!  Don't be nervous ladies.  Barb has been at this for a long time.  She was a great help in assisting those by her....thank you Barb.  The gal in the light purple top is Vicki.  I am so proud of the work that you did that day and also each time that you come to your Saturday classes with me.  You have come a long way since your first classes.  Your confidence shows and so does your end product.  Great JOB Vicki!!!

My girlfriend of 42 years, Betty (in the white sweater), was visiting and got to participate in this crazy "BOO CAPER".  She attends my card classes when she and her husband are with us each year.  We also spend some time making some special cards that she needs.  Betty used to come, 40 years ago, to classes that I was involved in teaching in New Orleans.  It was and is always like "old times" when we get to spend time like this.  Beautiful project, Betty!!!  Thanks also for helping Mother with her BOO.

Good picture of your BOO, Barb.  Never did get a picture of you with your eyes open.  Barb and a few others put their middle fence down and realized that their pumpkin was not down first.  Still looks cute no matter how it got down on your banner.  Always....your cards or projects are extremely well done!

Love your BOO, Muriel.  Thank you for letting us borrow your chairs. I do not think that we could have stood up doing this one.  I think that I will vote you "The Most Improved".  Well DONE!!  I should have had a picture of Vicki with her BOO.  You both may have tied for that honor.

What a great time you had, Miss Penny!  I see your pumpkin got put outside its fence as well.  Don't feel bad for a misdirected pumpkin folks.....this cute lady spends part of her time in Pagosa Springs and the rest of her time in St. Croix.  We miss her when she is not here.  So, for someone who has not done that many things with me....WOW!!

First Design Team Card

TWO PAPER DIVAS Design Team Card.  Yes, this is Fall and not Spring.  You do not need to look at your calendar.  I wanted to make a simple card using the clear stamps (Floral, Butterfly and Saying) which I received from Remember This Remember That in Gardner, Kansas.  Melissa Rodgers, the owner of the store and co-creator of Two Paper Divas, sent to me a collection of the clear stamps which she now is selling in her store.  I will always title my future postings as a Design Team Card so you will know when I have used some of these darling clear stamps.

I first made a template using the largest Spellbinders Nestabilities Die from the set #S4-290.  Then I placed this over an A2 white card (cut 4-1/4 by 11 and scored at 5-1/2).  Holding it in place with my hand, I sponged (using a jumbo sponge) Stampin' Up Certainly Celery around the edge of the opening of the template.  Without re-inking the sponge, I used a circular motion and continued into the center of the opening.  This template can be used for future template needs and the white die cut which I gained by cutting the template can be saved for a future need as well.

I stamped the floral stems and the saying using Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink. The coloring was accomplished with Copic sketch markers.  My card base was made with Gina K. Designs pure luxury 120 lb. heavy base weight pure white card stock.  By using this product it was one concept of paper which will not bleed through when using the Copic markers.  I used yellow stickles for the centers of all flowers.  The corner punch used is a Martha Stewart punch.  These flowers were backed with a 1" strip of Certainly Celery paper by Stampin' Up.  The butterfly was double layered on the card and lifted with small pop dots and I had embossed the butterfly with "leaf" powder by Zing and "sunny yellow" powder by Stampendous.  The ribbon is a Stampin' Up product and I used the Bow Easy to accomplish the bow.  Cannot live without my Bow Easy.
